Surprise...I'm Pregnant!!

Yes, you did read that headline right!   We are very excited to announced that we are expecting baby number 4. I will post again soon to share more details with you, but until then I'd love to share some pictures with you that were taken yesterday by my friend Cheree. I'm currently 24weeks pregnant and after taking forever to come up with a way to tell you all about our new little surprise, I thought this was a cute way of doing so.  I came up with the location and prop ideas and Cheree was awesome enough to click my growing tummy at a local homestead that I will also be posting about soon too.
I've also added our ultrasound picture as it is our little bubs first photo.

A big thank you to my awesome friend Cheree for taking these gorgeous maternity photos for me, I appreciate it soooo much!  Also a big thank you to one of my main men Aston, who was such a good boy supervising the maternity photo shoot, a fantastic big brother to be and model while we took the pictures yesterday afternoon in the space of about 45minutes. I will have more pictures to share with you from this shoot later too.

I;m interested to know have you ever had maternity pictures taken in any of your pregnancies?
I'd also love to hear if are you currently expecting too.

Take Care xx

Allergy advice needed please

I need some allergy advice please.

Those of you that have kids that suffer from allergies or you yourself suffer or anyone else that has knowledge of this please answer.  Aston (22mths) has started showing signs that he may be allergic to something since Sunday morning, but I don't know what? I noticed red hive like things on his cheeks when he woke up in the morning. Since he sometimes gets a rash on his chin when teething I just thought maybe this might be something new to do with teething. Considering the boy is almost 2 and has only got 6 teeth that have all arrived between the ages of 16months and 21months I am not sure what to expect with him.  However, as the day went on they started to appear on his arms and legs too and look very angry and red too.  They appeared all the way up his legs but not where his nappy sits, and only go up his arms between the tops of his hands to the area where a sort sleeve shirt would sit but are not on his shoulders or neck. They also don't appear on his back so I am not sure what would cause this?

I was thinking if it was clothes wash it would be all over his body as all clothing is washed with the same detergent, plus he hasn't had a reaction to this in the past though.
Can food allergies just go on certain parts of the body? He eats everything we eat and I really can't think of anything new that he has started to eat lately either?
Then I wondered can allergies to things within his environment just appear on certain parts of his body?
The only thing that I can think of that has changed in his environment is the owners of the rental property we are living in are selling and they got the garden beds re-mulched. Would there be something on the woodchip that could cause this or possibly an insect of some kind? Now writing this I also remember seeing him spraying but I don't know what he was using either and he didn't tell me it was dangerous either!

On Sunday we took him to the chemist as our doctors were shut and they suggested we give him zyrtec. Sunday afternoon we gave him one dose and the chemist said by Monday they should start to look better and less angry . On Monday they were still there so Monday I gave him the recommended 2 doses, the first one was early in the day but by bed time he had to have another dose as the reaction was flaring up again and looking red and angry. This morning when he woke up they weren't as bad as last night so I didn't give him any medicine, by mid morning though they had started to get angry looking again so I've made an appointment with the doctors. Although I can't get in to see my regular doctor who is fantastic with kids I can see someone else. I didn't want to continue giving him the Zyrtec as I don't know really how harmful it can be if used of a period when they symptoms keep happening? Has anyone used Zyrtec? how have you found it worked with your kids or you when using it? Has it worked for you and did you find out what was causing the reaction and what you were allergic too?

Any ideas on this would be really appreciated.

UPDATE: I took Aston to the doctors today and he thinks it is defiantly an allergic reaction but to what we don't know? He has given him predmix o-soln (prednisolone sodium phosphate) and is to take this once a day for 3 days. If it is still present we are then to go back and they will refer us to a pead and start on the skin testing. The doctor said at Aston's age he has found that doing the blood test not that successful in finding answers.
Have any of you or your children had the skin testing done? Have you had the blood test done?
Have any of you taken or have your children taken this medication for an allergic reaction and how has it worked? Aston has had to have this medicine once before last winter when he had a pretty bad chest infection. I understand that is it highly addictive drug so I defiantly don't want to keep him taking it on a long term basis. Thanks to those who have commented on here and via facebook & twitter.

Do you know what your kids are learning & do you agree with homework?

Do you know what your kids are doing in class right now? By this I mean,  do you actually know what work it is they are doing and when things need to be handed in? I feel like  I don't and want to rectify this but I'm interested to hear what your experiences are and what you and your school does?
Does your school tell you what is going on? Do you know what they are learning about on a daily basis? How do you know this? Are you informed at the start of the term, year or do you have to ask the teacher yourself?

I am interested to know all of this because we just spent the weekend enforcing our oldest son catch up on some work he didn't do in term 1. The teacher didn't say we had to get him to do it but my husband and I felt it was the correct thing for him to do, so he would understand that this wouldn't be tolerated and that the only person he is going to disadvantage by doing this is himself. He worked hard all weekend and handed in 3 projects this morning from term 1 and 1 from term 2 that was due today. When I say he spent all weekend I literally meant that too! He watched no TV or played any games.

We only learnt that the work hadn't been done at our parent teacher interview last Thursday. I was really disappointed as I had no idea and feel like a bad mother because I didn't know what was going on?
We gave him a stern talking to and he spent the entire weekend doing the work to catch up. What I don't understand is why did the school  not inform me about this in term 1? If one piece of work isn't handed in I should have been called and we did tell his teacher this at the parent teacher interview in term 1. I do think there must be an issue of this with alot of students at the school though, now all the kids in his year have an A4 piece of paper stapled into the back of their learning journals to inform parents of what is due and when. Since we moved to Melbourne and he has been going to this school he hasn't really had homework as the schools homework policy is to read for 30mins a day. They do no worksheets or spelling etc like we were use to from Kinder to year 3 in NSW. Now year 5 and 6 the workload has increased and they have to do extra thing at home that aren't either finished in class or that require extra hours to finish. I have always been worried as the kids get older that they wouldn't be use to doing work and would suffer. Over the years we have given our son workbooks to do and also asked him to write about the book he had just read as a way of trying to keep him in the habit but I don't think this was quite enough. We also started tutoring last year after I realised that he was having issues in particular areas. I had spoken to the school about this before but felt as though nothing was really being done to help him improve and I was worried he was going to be left behind and this would be a disadvantage to him in the long run. We only did tutoring once a week for 2 hours and this was only for the last term though. We are about to start tutoring again this weekend as it is due to start back up again and not a moment too soon by the looks of it!

So,  I would be really interested to hear how you keep in touch with your school and how communication between parents and teachers works? Do your kids have homework and do you agree with them having to do homework? Is it an easy task at your house or is it like pulling teeth?!

I personally think that a little homework is a good idea because it allows the child to revisit what they have learnt.  I think also from a parents point of view you can see what your child is learning about which allows you to work with the school in teaching your child by asking them questions and trying to integrate what they have been learning about into your daily lives. I think it also gives you a good indication of your child's strengths and weaknesses and this allows you to go to the teacher with knowledge to ask questions and find a solution on how you can best help them by either excelling in an area or by doing something extra to catch up.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

We found a house!

If you have been reading my blog lately you will have seen that we have been having a few real estate woes with  Real Estate Agents, Bullies & Common Courtesy  . Well things are looking up and thank goodness for that because I was starting to really get tired of it. Realistically it had only just really begun though but it was so mentally and physically draining that I didn't know how I was going to deal with it week in week out?   Luckily for us we found a great new real estate agent who showed us a great house.  Our new home is practically brand new, is cheaper in rent than the house we currently rent and also gives us access to resort style facilities while renting the property too which we are within walking distance of. There are lots of parks as well so we have a good variety of new play adventures to have when we move out here in a few weeks time.  The only downside to all of this is we will no longer be in walking distance to the kids school which means I will have be more organised in the mornings but I am hoping this is a good thing for all of us. So now the big job begins of packing up this house within 3weeks and trying to move most of the contents within a day while we have help from a couple of awesome friends. We've usually move everything by ourselves but at the moment we just need a bit of a hand and it is nice to know we have people to help us do this. We've lived in Melbourne for 3 years now and I am finally starting to see that my friends can become my surrogate family and that is okay to ask them for help too.  I also learnt from this experience that my actual local community in Melbourne is filled with really good and decent people who are only willing to help you out. I asked if anyone had boxes I could have or borrow for the move as it was an expense I didn't want to have because this was so unexpected and I had at least half a dozen people reply and offer me both boxes to keep and some to borrow too. Even though the suburb I live in is with 25km of the city of Melbourne I am feeling really grateful that I have my own little small town community feel going on which is a nice feeling to have in such a big city so far from my home town.

Since all this trouble started I have been amazed at how many people have seemed to have had the same problems as us. I am appalled that people are being treated in this manner and for the remainder of our stay in this property won't stand for it any longer. I would suggest that you check out your state tenant union for more information that is applicable to you. During this time I found that you can actually ask for a rent reduction if the house has been put on the market. I had never heard of this before and for those who are locked into fixed leases and have to go through this week in week out for a long period of time should really look into this. I did not do this as we decided to move,  I am not an expert in the filed either,  I am just passing on details that I think anyone in this situation should give further thought on.

Earlier this week I received another text message regarding another open house for this weekend. They didn't ask me if we could come to a mutual time, just that this is when it is on and that was it!  I haven't bothered replying to it yet either, we will see if the real estate agent bothers calling me before the end of the week?  Now I understand that legally if I don't say yes over the phone or in the text message they are going to have to formally write a letter and inform me giving  me 24hrs notice, then we will see how long the lack of common courtesy continues. I'm not trying to be hard to deal with but they know I am not impressed with the lack of respect yet they continue to do this?  I am also not trying to make real estate agents,  property owners and property investors lives harder either by writing my posts about this topic.  All I am trying to do is let both real estate agents and tenants know that common courtesy and respect goes a long way in both directions.  Playing by the rules is the only way to go in this circumstance, mistreating people is not good enough just because you are too lazy to do your job or because you don't agree with what legally has to happen. There are things I don't agree with when it comes to all of this but I am still doing the right thing because it is the right thing and because I value being a good person.  In the past I've owned my own home before and I've had it as an investment property too, the last thing I would ever dream of doing was treating those who are looking after my home in such a way with such little respect.

Have you ever had anything like this happen to you before? How did you handle the situation?

Real Estate Agents, Bullies & Common Courtesy

source RJD Posters
I often wonder where people's manners and all the common courtesy has gone in the world today? When I was growing up I was taught to treat people with respect, not like they are a can you kick along the street. My parents always taught me to be kind to people and to give anyone a helping hand if they needed it because everyone is worth your time.  I am worried that we see people disrespecting each other all the time these days, and sadly it doesn't seemed to be getting any better. Whether it is showing a lack of respect for each other on the road, at the shops, in schools, workplaces and sadly everywhere in between. I don't think its a big deal to offer to let someone who has less grocery items in front of me when I have much more then they do, or letting someone in the lane instead of speeding up. I also teach my kids how it is wrong to disrespect people and how we must treat others the way we wish to be treated. Unfortunately though I find more and more that others think it is okay to disrespect me and my family.

Lately we have had a few things happen that just make me so sad!

Firstly, there is the bullying of my son. He is in year 6 and 11 years old. He is currently being bullied by a year 8 boy (approx 14yrs old) about being fat. Let me start off firstly by saying I think NOBODY has the right to pass judgment or say anything on anyone else's physical being and I am absolutely livid that this child does this. It started last year when my son was in year 5 and the other boy was in year 7. M didn't tell me it was happening or how bad it was because he was scared the boy was going to physically assault him. It wasn't till the end of the year that he fully opened up to me and begged me not to go back to the school.

At the start of the school year on the first day I went to see the Principal with M and we told her what happened, she guaranteed me this wouldn't happen this year and that if it did that M must tell her and his teachers so it can be handled. For the first few weeks to a month in the first term I asked him every few days if he had seen the boy and had any trouble with him? He kept telling me no and I started to ask less and less because I didn't want to make the issue any bigger. I was gutted again when during the school holidays M admitted to me that the boy had been bullying him again. It always happens when he is getting changed for PE or Sport and both M and this other boy are in the change rooms at the same time. I don't know why on earth they put year 6 boys and year 8 boys in the change room at the same time? I told M once we go back I would make an appointment with his class teacher, the year adviser and also the principal so we can get this sorted out. I don't want to stand by and watch M deal with this again this year. Last year he became increasing agitated and also lost weight, at first I thought it was a growth spurt and maybe the start of puberty but now I think it has more to do with the bullying. I won't stand by and let another kid treat my child this way.

So this Thursday we have our appointment booked before our parent teacher interviews and I am going to get this kid to stop this bullying some way or another. I am going to ask the teachers why they put kids in a change room together when physically they are so much going on with their bodies and that maybe the school should considering changing this. I also want M to feel comfortable telling both me and the teachers who this child is so he can be dealt with and stops. I am sure if he is doing this to my son then he is probably doing it to others too. I know people mistreat others when they fell horrible about themselves but that isn't good enough! Work out your issues and leave others alone! If this kid isn't stopped he will be the douche bag we all have to put up with later in life because no one did anything about it when he was younger. Also just a side not to all parents in fact to everyone! :  If you are an adult and think it is okay to make comments about other people's bodies just sit back and think about who is listening to you! I don't think you should do it in the first place for starters but just think what your kids or other  people are hearing you say! They are going to do just what you are doing and it hurts so grow up and stop it!

UPDATE 27/4/2012

I went to school yesterday and we were rushed through some lame excuse for a meeting because parent teacher interviews were after us. I am really annoyed about this because I rang and made a special request for a meeting last week and also asked for a suitable time so my husband could come too. I was told then that this was a suitable time for them and if we needed to have another meeting with my husband then we could discuss that later.  The meeting I feel did not really accomplish much and was a total waste of time. We met with the class teacher and the year adviser but no principal as I requested. I feel as if the year adviser has made up her own mind about this and isn't really up for doing anything about it. She came right out and said in front of my son that some kids have problems with having others see their bodies in change rooms etc and that it sounds like this is something  my son is worried about. Yet when she asked him does he go swimming and not have a problem with not wearing a shirt or changing he said no he didn't have a problem with that but she just fobbed that comment off.

Until yesterday I didn't understand that this child who is 2 years old then my son comes into the change rooms to use the toilets during their PE or sport time, during this time my son is getting changed and this is when the comments have been made. The year adviser came to her own conclusion as to how this was not happening and my son didn't feel comfortable in setting her straight either.  He is scared to tell who this child is because he's worried he will be physically assaulted. After meeting with the staff yesterday I don't blame him for not wanting to tell them either because they didn't exactly make either of us feel like they were there to help. Many times during the interview I felt like I was being made a fool of and it didn't seem to make any difference what I said to them. It was also brought to my attention that the school knew about some form of bullying by this older child last year and the year adviser swore she called me about it. I told her I was never phone by her about this and now I am quite annoyed about that too.

Now we need to work out what the next step for us should be? Should I ask for another meeting, knowing quite well now what they think on the subject? Should I take it directly to the principal or just walk away?
This is bullshit and not good enough when schools claim they have anti-bullying policies, yet I am not seeing much of a policy right now! I am considering finding new schools for the kids if it doesn't improve because I don't feel comfortable with my child going here if he can't get support and understanding when he needs it most.

If anyone has had any experience or general suggestions to deal with this I am looking for any help I can get. Has anyone had success with moving their children to another school out of zone because of a reason like this and had success? The zones in the area we live in seem to be so strict and without a very good reason people don't seem to be allowed to go to other schools unless they pay to go to private or religious schools. There is a new school being built in the area but this won't be open until next year and it also is only P-6 so won't be suitable for my son as he will be going in to year 7.
Thanks for you comments on this post and your support, I really appreciate it.

My second gripe with those who show a lack of common courtesy and respect is thanks to the real estate agent and the owner of the property we currently live in.  We've lived in this house for 3 years and we have treated it like it was our own. Sadly the house has just been put on the market.  I know it is the owners property and they have every right to sell, what I don't agree to is being treated like dirt in the process. Out of the blue 2 real estate agents did appraisals on the property and then we heard nothing for weeks from either them or the owner. We were then informed by a gardener that the property was put on the market because he came to do a quote to re-mulch the garden beds to spruce the garden up for the sale of the house. What The? nice to be told about this!  He was one of four gardeners who came to our house, but the only one who called in advance to make an appointment. The other 3 had no appointments and expected to be let in, me being me I let them in to do it,  but I was annoyed because who knows who these people could have been? People go around saying they are from a wide number of places these days when they actually aren't! I have 3 kids and I need to be safe. The worst thing was our real estate agent of 3 years didn't even bother to call us  and we called them they made excuses! We also had to have our personal possessions photographed and put on a sales board and on the internet for the sale of the house which I felt like we had no choice but to agree too.

After I made it quite clear to the agent I didn't think there was much common courtesy being displayed by them or the owner they promised it wouldn't happen again and that they would be more mindful. I was hopeful but sadly it didn't get any better. Just a day later I received a text message yes a text message! that there would be an open house inspection that coming Saturday and that they wanted to hold one thereafter for as many foreseeable Saturdays until the house sold! When I called back the agent he was rude and I felt like I was being bullied into doing the open too. This was the straw the broke the camels back and this was when we decided to seriously think about moving. We didn't want to go through this every weekend then only to be possibly kicked out when a new owner brought and they weren't an investor.

So we started looking around and met 2 fantastic real estate agents who were both very helpful. I explained to them the situation and what had been happening and they were both disgusted that we were being treated that way. One of the agents even told us that we were able to ask for a rent reduction if we wanted to stay when a property goes on the market and you are renting. I didn't know that and the agents we rent through sure as heck weren't going to share that information. So with 2 properties in mind and really lots to choose from as we live in the fastest growing suburb in Australia we gave notice last Friday. I felt sick doing that because we hadn't found a house to move into yet, but my husband was right in saying our current property owners and real estate agents don't deserve our money when they treat us this way either! Lots of people were telling us just to move out or to fight them and not allow them to do things unless it was formally written in letters etc, but to be honest I don't have the energy. I think it takes far my energy to be nasty then what it does to be nice and I don't plan on becoming a nasty person just because others do it.  I would also prefer to walk away with my head held high knowing I did the right thing too because this is worth far more to me in the long run.

We put an application in late on Friday afternoon and found out Monday afternoon it was processed and successful!! So looks like it does pay to do the right thing and to treat people with respect. Our new real estate agent said she wished she had more tenants like us and even convinced the new landlords to wait an extra week so we didn't have to pay rent in two properties for two weeks. Thank goodness because I was really starting to question living in the city and have considered moving back to NSW or into QLD so we were closer to family.  Our current but soon to be old landlords and real estate agents are now going to have to worry about finding new tenants or have no one living in the house until it sells. Things would have been much different had they treated us with a bit of respect and practiced some common courtesy. I'm not a hard person to get along with and I always try to do the right thing.

So now we have to pack up the house and beg our friends to help us move in a few weeks time. Good news is the property is in an estate that has the use of a pool, gym and tennis court facilities plus it is cheaper then where we rent now!

Being nice doesn't always mean you have to finish last, it just means that sometimes it might take a little big longer to get where you are going. I found the picture below that reminded me of how to react when bad things happen in the world.

If you think you need to find out more about your rights when it comes to renting and or when the property you rent goes on the market check out this Tenant Union Victoria which has details of where to look within Australia and also international sites on your rights. You can also Google tenant rights and your state to find other information that maybe relevant too.

Blogging Awards - love them or hate them?

So I was wondering, do you like Blogging Awards?

If you are a blogger yourself, do you like to nominate or be nominated for a bloggers awards? Do you think they are fair and do you ask your followers to vote for you to help you win or do you prefer not to ask?

If you are a reader , do you like to participate in them and vote for your fave blogger in blog awards? Do you think being asked to vote for your favourite blogger should be rewarded, or are you happy to just do it because you love reading their blog so much and can appreciate the effort they put into it?

I'm asking this because there are always awards and competitions around and I wondered how others felt about them?  I personally love seeing the lists because it helps me find new people to follow and read.  I'm always hoping to find someone new on the  list because lets face it, it's not like we don't have enough to read already! I don't mind voting for people in weblog awards and if I am nominated, I don't either!  I'm also always proud of my blogging buddies who are nominated and win these awards because it is so nice  to be recogonised for what you do. Oh Gorgeous Baby - We find lots of lovely things

A Gorgeous Baby Becoming A Gorgeous Boy.

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know I haven't written much here since the start of 2012. I'm sorry about that but we've had a lot going on (I promise to fill you all in soon with a couple of blog posts) and I've found it hard to get to the computer and to find the mojo to write. I actually never went near a computer for about 3months (shocking, I know!) and I was rarely checked Facebook or my emails either  I guess sometimes you just need to take a break.
Luckily though I have missed writing and talking to my friends online and I was really touched when many of you sought me out to make sure I was okay? Now that I am finally getting back into writing and life is filled with loads at the moment, hopefully I will be around a bit more often and will have lots to talk about.

Anyway, today I just wanted to share this beautiful picture of my son Aston, who just happens to be 22months old today and tell you just some of the reasons I love him. To be honest I have no idea where those 22 months have gone? However, I can tell you he has made me laugh for most of those 22months!  He has such a funny personality and is a bit of a joker.  At the moment although very clingy and very much a "Mummy's boy", I just adore him soooo much and love spending time with him!
I love all my kids, but I have to be honest in saying that right now when the big kids go to school and hubby has left for work I really love hanging out with him all alone in the house.  We love to watch Playschool, The Wiggles, Bob The Builder as well as Giggle and Hoot too. He really loves reading books,  singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Incy Wincy Spider and If You're Happy And You Know It too.  He also loves basketball (thanks to his big brother) or any ball playing game so we often play that too.

Some days when there is too much going on and he does drive me nuts as he wants all of my attention , I am guilty of not spending enough time with him.  But right now it 's moments like this as I write this post for you with him sitting on my lap chatting away trying to "help"  me that I should always make the time because he has grown so quick. I love it when he snuggles into me and gives me cuddles and kisses, then we say I Love You or rather Aston's is more like IWUVYOUUUUU all as one word!

This photo was taken by me on the weekend at a Nuffnang & Yoplait Blogging Event that I took the kids to in Melbourne. With everything that is going on around here at the moment it was nice. Okay well it was until it was time to leave and Aston wasn't having a bar of it because he was having too much fun running around the park, jumping on the jumping castle, playing with the farm animals and eating crapes! Hopefully I wasn't the only one who left the event with 3 kids dragging their feet. It was really good  to get out to this event as I've already missed a few blogging events already in 2012. Unfortunately I didn't run into any bloggers I knew and watching 3 kids by myself meant I didn't really have a spare second to introduce myself to anyone new either and I LOVE meeting new people! Oh well not to worry.  All the Nuffnang team were lovely and I hope they hold more events like this again soon, I just hope hubby can come too so I get to chat to other attendees too.

Okay so that was a bit of a bits and pieces post, but if you could see what was going on inside my head right now then you would totally get what that is! Thanks for sticking around to read and hopefully I will post again soon. I'd love to hear from you so please leave me a comment here on the blog, via Twitter or on Facebook.

Sexy Logies Fashion, Who Won & What I think.

I didn't watch any of the Logies this year, did you?  I had ever intention of watching it but I think hubby was strategically missing that channel while I sat for a while watching TV with him. After being out all day I would have loved nothing more then to sloth on the sofa and watch The Logies 2012, but the realization that I had the Real Estate coming at 10am in the morning to show every damn sales agent the property to sell and I hadn't tidied up my office yet got the priority instead. I didn't go completely cold turkey though and still kept an eye on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook  to see who was wearing what and who was saying what, even though there was suppose to be no tweeting? This year wasn't without controversy with a newspaper leaking the Gold Logie winner before it had been announced in the room, so I guess it really does make sense to check out what is happening online because you never know what you might find out?

A couple of awards I was interested in hearing about are listed below, along with those who I think looked gorgeous on the night. Like every year many celebrities are dogged  for what they wore but I just won't be doing that!  Just like I didn't last year with my post Who's Laughing Now I honestly don't now why people have to be so nasty?

Congrats to all the winners and to all of those who were also nominated.

My thoughts on 2012 Logie Awards

Gold Logie - Hamish Blake
You know the guy is funny but you want to rubbish him a bit for winning because he was hardly on TV at all compared to those he was up against. However you can't because he is a very funny guy who has a huge following and you can't help but love. I do wonder what Andy is thinking today? Also is Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster the new It Couple?

Silver Logie Asher Keddie - Nina Proudman in Offspring
Most outstanding Actress  - Asher Keddie - Ita Buttrose in The Birth of Cleo.
I'm guessing if you read my blog you are probably not surprised at all that I am excited to hear that Asher Keddie won for her role in Offspring. This is by far my favourite show on TV and there is only 2 more sleeps till season 3 starts. I love how complicated but normal she is and yes I love Nina's fashion too. I'm also a fan of Asher's when she played Ita in Paper Giants and Blanche in Hawke too. I've written about Nina Proudman's fashion, I wrote about Asher Keddie interview with Australian Woman's Weekly and Asher's Logie dress from last year  if you would like to check them out.

Silver Logie - Hugh Sheridan - Ben Rafter in  Packed to the Rafters
Most Outstanding Actor - Hugh Sheridan - Ben Rafter in Packed To The Rafters
He has always been a great actor on Packed To The Rafters but I think he has really stood out and made us all laugh, cry and want to hug him  with the death of Melissa (Zoe Ventoura)  and the experiences he has faced on the show since then. I wonder did he loose his Logie this year though?

Most Popular Reality Program - The Block
Yay Katrina & Amy!  I still laugh and feel a bit silly for not realising it was actually you Katrina! I am a member of The Decorating Forum  and had spoken online with Katrina via there and on one of her blogs but due to not knowing what she actually looked like I didn't realise it was her on the show?? When I caught up with Julie-Ann and some other members of the forum while she was in Melbourne I felt like a right fool when I finally put two and two together! Had the Block asked what colour her boys rooms were or perhaps what her office looked like I would have know who she was for sure! I also got to admit that I LOVE Scott Cam as he makes me laugh and reminds me of my Dad who is a long way away in NSW and I'm in Melbourne. I just smile every time I hear him and think of my Dad.  I also really enjoyed watching The Block last season and can't wait for the new season to start tonight!  I already know where the new "The Block" is situated in Melbourne and can't wait for the show to unfold on TV. I wonder what will happen this year??

Most Popular Presenter - Adam Hills - Adam Hills in Gordon St
I love watching Gordon St and watch the show every week! Adam Hills is a funny guy and also a breath of fresh air when it comes to interviewing his guests. The show is full of interesting guests and I suggest you check it out if you haven't already. ABC Wednesday nights 8:30pm

Most Popular New Female Talent - Melissa Bergland - Jenny Gross in Winners & Losers
What a gorgeous girl and I just adore her character Jen on the show. I totally love her amazing red hair and that she seems to be completely happy in her own skin. Last year in my post about the logies I wrote about Jen as well and I can tell you that I love her even more this year!

Most Outstanding Actor- Rob Carlton - Paper Giants
This man did an amazing job at playing Kerry Packer in "Paper Giants" that aired on the ABC as a two part mini-series last year. I find both Ita Buttrose (Asher Keddie) and Kerry Packer (Rob Carlton) to be both very interesting people so I just loved watching this show. I loved Paper Giants so much I put it on my Christmas list last year and got a copy of it for Christmas 2011 from my hubby and the kids, along with Season 1 of Offspring as well.

Most Popular Drama Series- Packed to the Rafters
I love this show and when it is on TV I never miss it! I feel like it is covering some great topics and the writers are keeping it pretty real for all of us to identify with. All the characters seem like normal every day people. I was great seeing Julie Rafter (Rebecca Gibney) talk about blogging and I do wonder where this might go on the show?

2012 Logies Fashion LOVE

Shelley Craft
Shelley Craft & her baby bump looked gorgeous on the Red Carpet. I would love to know who designed this dress?

Jennifer Hawkins
The trend of the sexy thigh- high split is alive and well at the Logies in 2012. Jen Hawkins looks stunning as she walked the Red Carpet. The Myer Fashion ambassador really stood out (for all the right reasons) in a turquoise Toni Maticevski dress. I think what really made the dress though was teaming it with those HOT shoes! I'm wondering if they are her own brand of shoes being sold via Style Trend  JLH CANE ORANGE SUEDE LEATHER HIGH HEEL PLATFORM PEEP TOE PUMP

Asher Keddie
I really do adore this woman's style. No matter what Asher seems to wear she always looks sophisticated and elegant but with a touch of sexy too. The amazing neon and lace dress was designed by J'Aton.

There were lots of other beautiful dresses but this post is turning into a novel so I will leave it at that and would love to know  what you think of the Logies this year? Do you have a favourite dressed celebrity?
Did you watch Ch9, follow on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter or did you really not care at all?

you should check out for a giggle too.

Do you wish that nogrowactive was available when you were pregnant? haha

One Direction Ticket Waitlist

1D Image Credit
Hello my wonderful readers! Well I haven't posted for quite a few months now but I promise I will fill you in on what has been happening around here with a couple of posts very shortly. I've got some big news so make sure you keep an eye out for my posts. Of all the things I could blog about I can guarantee you that I didn't think I would be making my blogging comeback with a post about this. However, after this mornings excitement shown by my 6 year old daughter, Airlie, watching One Direction aka 1D I just had to share some information I found about One Direction later today as I know loads of Mums and Dads might want to take their kids along because of the extrem excitement their kids would experience.

Now firstly let me tell you, I don't really know how Airlie even knows who One Direction are? I honestly only in the past month or so have heard about them. Until I seen an interview with them a few days ago I thought they were American boy band and they reminded me NKOTB... New Kids On The Block for those of you who aren't 90's music lovers!! (don't make out you didn't know!) However after the interview I realised that One Direction are actually an English boy band and once I heard them speak I had a flash back to my high school days, I was hanging out with Sarah and Tracey B (Aussie English Girls) who introduced me to Take That. Ahhh you remember those boys right? The extremely young Robbie Williams and well the other boys... I do remember Howard or rather Howard's chest! Ahh to be a young girl again.

I really love music and all genre of music too but these days I don't make a habit of leaving the music channels on.  As a Mum I am a bit concerned about the nature of some of the lyrics and the visuals that the kids would get to see. I know this sux for the kids because I always loved watching Rage and Video Hits so I really should let the kids watch, but is it just me or do you think video clips and the language has gotten a lot more broader? Or am I just old now?

That is why today I was completely surprised by Airlie's reaction jumping around in the lounge room while One Direction Wakes Up With Today on Ch 9 and then highlights on Mornings I had no idea she even knew who they were or what songs they sang?  But then again she does have an older brother who constantly listens to the radio and knows all the latest songs. After watching Airlie's reaction this morning I decided to research these boys a bit more (I do love a good research project). I didn't know much about them or know many of their songs...okay none!  All I had seen was the local Channel 10, 9 & 7 news choppers reporting their every move since they landed and made hundreds of girls cry yesterday after slipping out the back door of the Sydney Airport. I know they also love to hang out in swanky hotels, eat brunch and like to go swimming when most of us in Australia think its too blooming cold!
I also learnt they are the only British brand to date that has debut #1 in America (which by the sounds of it is a big deal?) I found they have their very own Street Team (no wonder with so many crazy I mean adoring female fans), they were on X factor and well loads of girls around the world really really really LOVE THEM!

I also found how you can get on the waitlist for One Direction tickets - This doesn't guarantee tickets but it does give you a chance to hear about it. 1D (Haha I'm such a fan now!) have also announced they are doing shows in Australia in 2013 but my research didn't bring up any actual dates or details on the actual One Direction Australian concerts.

I also checked out their website and found that you can enter a competition to win 2 tickets to the One Direction Show in Brisbane and you also get to Meet One Direction too!  You can find out details at the link if you want to enter. You need to do it and enter in the new day or two from what I read of the fine print so make sure you read before you enter.

So did this post bring back any memories of your fave bands? Who did you go wild over and who was plastered all over your bedroom walls?

Oh and Good Luck to all the parents out there trying to get their hands on tickets for this year and next years One Direction concerts.
